The heron's favorite fishing spot is below a Camu Camu

The black heron, white-necked heron or cuckoo heron is a bird full of elegance. Its elongated legs and fluid movements make it a true dancer of the riverbanks. The Tupi were the first to notice its beauty, calling it “the waterwalking bird”.

If you want to see one, seek some Camu Camu shrubs and look underneath, the shade of this shrub is their favorite fishing spot. In rainy seasons, the river overflows, its ripe fruits fall and provide a veritable feast for the fish in the breeding season. This is the perfect setting for herons to feed and dance with their beaks full of fish.
