Is it a Copoazú or is it a cornbird´s nest?

To walk through the jungle is to discover how nature has refined the ecosystem over millions of years to find the perfect forms for life.

Thanks to such vast experience, nature is one of the best mentors for all those who are willing to receive its knowledge, whether human or animal.

One of the best students of the jungle is the cornbird, this black bird has been inspired by the shape of fruits to build its nest. It has learned so well that it is difficult to differentiate it from the copoazu:

  • They have similar colors and shapes
  • Both hang from tree branches at the same height.
  • Both fall off after a while.

How do you tell them apart? The sound of this bird’s song is not a clue, it can be heard throughout the jungle. You can’t go by the smell either, the bird spreads it all over the tree. You have to get closer, you might be able to see a small hole at the top, a sign that it is a nest and not a Copoazu.
